| Welcome to William's website
If you had one wish what would it be? New car,
new house? Well how about speaking one word or standing on your
own two feet? These tasks seem simple to most of us but to William
they are at the moment just out of his reach.
William is 6 years old and has a range of illnesses
that have made his growing up more complicated than it is for the
most of us, but this doesn't stop him being the most fantastic child
anyone could hope for.
Through this website we've shared our hopes and
dreams for William and in 2002 many wonderful people help us reach
our goal of sending William to swim with the Dolphins in Florida.
You can ready about the therapy he received in 'the
treatment' section.
For although William cannot walk he loves the
water and because of the buoyancy he is able to forget his disadvantages
and just enjoy himself and so the thrill was clear when he swam
in the warm Floridian waters with his favourite Dolphin - Fonzie!
Thanks to all of you who helped make this
dream a reality.
Wheels for Wills in 2007.
We launched Wheels for Wills in 2005 a campaign to try and raise enough money for us to buy
a wheelchair adapted vehicle and the good news is that we are getting very close. The modifide vehical will help us,
and William, to become more mobile and more spontaneous - we'll
be able to take William to see his friends, have days out and even
just go shopping!
To many a car is something taken for granted but
for us even a normal four door car is not suitable for William anymore
as he is getting too heavy to keep lifting in and out the car.
With this latest 2007 appeal our hope is that
we will be able to raise enough money to finally buy a people carrier that
can be adapted to take William in his wheelchair.
Over this year we are planning even bigger and better special events for
the Sweet William Appeal and we would be really grateful if you
could spare some time to help support this appeal, as much as you
all did so fantastically on the last appeals.
